Schiller is when light plays through a stone and is a part of its iridescence. The opal is the most famous stone that can use this effect the most.

The star sapphire is the most famous stone that has the effect of asterism. This happens when the densities are aligned in two different directions.

The term cat's eye refers to stones that have impurities that are arranged in a pattern that look like the eyes of a cat. Quartz is the most popular gem that exhibits this effect.

When the flaws in a stone create flash, it is referred to as aventurescence. These sparkles and flaws catch the light and create a unique look in the gem. Quartz is particularly susceptible to this effect.

The blue and gold flashes in a stone are referred to as labradorescence. It has become quite popular today in gemstones. The colors are strong and limited according to the direction and orientation of the fibers of light.
